Alpha United edges Camptown 1-0

Defending champions Alpha United secured a hard-fought 1-0 win over Camptown while Fruta Conquerors and Santos played to a draw as the Georgetown Football Association (GFA) Premier League competition continued on Friday at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) ground.

And in the opening fixture Western Tigers edged Mocha Champs 2-1 in a Group A fixture of the Supligen Under-20 competition.

In the Alpha United verus Camptown encounter a 36th minute goal by Elton Browne helped his team avenge a first round loss to the same opponents while neither Fruta Conquerors nor Santos were able to score in their drawn encounter.

In the U-20 fixture, Nedd Fraser sent Western Tigers ahead with a 31-m inute strike but Sedley Liverpool equalized seven minutes into the second half before Hubert Pedro netted the game winner in the 67th minute.
