President Bharrat Jagdeo distributed gifts to children in Sophia and those who are patients at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) on Christmas Day.
A press release from the Government Information Agency (GINA) said the president’s schedule included breakfast with the children at Sophia followed by the distribution of presents. Jagdeo told the organisers of the event that he would provide funding to assist them with a concrete surface for the building as the area was muddy.
Jagdeo then distributed gifts to the children and nurses at the hospital.
