Malteenoes defeated Everest by six wickets in the Georgetown Cricket Association under-19 limited overs cricket competition at the Malteenoes Sports Club ground yesterday.

Everest batted first and were bowled out for 140 in 29.1 overs despite a solid 69 laced with nine fours and two sixes from Chris Patadin. Leon Scott chipped in with 24.

Adrian Smith grabbed 3-26 while Denroy George, Simeon Sam, and Dennis Legay claimed two wickets each bowling for Malteenoes who responded by blasting 144-4 in 23.3 overs.

Delroy Jacobs top-scored with 41 including five fours and two sixes while Clive Andries struck seven fours and a six scoring 39. Keon Lake and Javed Rasheed ended up with identical figures of 2-31 bowling for Everest.

At the Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) the home team beat Ace Warriors by six wickets in the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) under-19 limited overs cricket competition yesterday.

Ace Warriors won the toss, batted, and were dismissed for 124 in 29 overs. Akeem McKenzie was the top-scorer with 39 including three sixes and one four while Colin McPherson chipped with 29 laced with six fours.

Kester Harcourt picked up 4-45, Mathew Marques 3-48 and Toralva Scipio 2-16 bowling for DCC who, in reply, scored 146-4 in 24.4 overs. Trevon Griffith top-scored with 48 including five fours while Floyd Jones stroked six fours scoring 37 and Leroy Primo chipped in with 28 which included four boundaries.
