The Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha encourages devotees to attend celebrations for this year’s Maha Shivaratri.

In a press release the group said Maha Shivaratri occurs on the 14th day of the Hindu month of Phalgun, which is Friday, February 16 and devotees are expected to worship, fast and seek spiritual strength.

The group said all mandirs will be hosting satsangh chanting “Om Nama shivaya” to celebrate Lord Shiva, the centre of the Hindu trimorty (trinity). Satsangh is scheduled for the Rama Krishna Dharmic Mandir at Bar Street, Kitty at 5.30pm and at the Shri Krishna Mandir, Seaforth Street, Campbellville at 7.30pm.
