PM on Golden Grove vendor inconclusive

A post-mortem (PM) examination on the body of 45-year-old Cecelia Dean, who was found dead in her Golden Grove, East Bank Demerara home on Tuesday evening, proved inconclusive.

Stabroek News understands that the PM was done yesterday.

Dean, a clothing vendor was found dead in her Golden Grove home on Tuesday. Police had received a call and went to the home where they discovered the woman’s body lying on the floor in the shack that she lived in. She lived alone.

Dean was reportedly last seen alive on Sunday while heading to church. According to neighbours, the woman had often complained of persons threatening her and robbing her.

When Stabroek News visited the community on Wednesday a man, who did not want to state his name, but said that he was Dean’s cousin had said that he had called the woman’s cellular phone but it was answered by a male voice. On Wednesday he attempted to call the number again but said it was turned off.

He had stated that all of Dean’s other relatives lived overseas. Stabroek News understands that some relatives are expected to arrive in the country shortly.
