Library opened at Winfer Gardens

The students of Winfer Gardens Primary will now benefit from a school library which was officially opened by Minister in the Ministry of Education, Dr Desrey Fox on Wednesday.

According to a Government Information Agency (GINA) press release, the library has approximately $250,000 worth of books including textbooks and encyclopedias. The Ministry of Education presented the school with some of the books and others were donated by the Georgetown Reading and Research Centre.

The GINA press release also stated that Fox congratulated the school’s administration for taking the initiative to start the library and encouraged students to make use of the new resource since, as she described it, “reading is a skill of life without which a person is considered disabled”.
