Sol thanks customers

Sol Guyana Inc says the public has supported its operations at two fuel distribution services it acquired over the last two years and to show its gratitude it hosted a cocktail earlier this month.

The company said since it bought the local distribution and marketing assets of Shell in 2005, and Esso in November, it has gotten only positive responses from consumers. In a press release, from Inglefield Ogilvy, Sol said to ensure continued customer satisfaction it embarked on several exciting projects. It hosted the ‘Shell V Power’ promotion at Shell service stations, the ‘Sol Velocita’ promotion and, in March, the ‘Power Up and Win a Suzuki Grand Vitara’ promotion.

It said too it made fuel and lubricants more accessible to interior customers by commissioning storage facilities at Itabali. “This venture could not have been a success without the cooperation of Messrs. Abrams and John Adams of ETK,” Sol said.

The company said it also contributed to a number of charities in its efforts to “reach out to the wider community.” Sol contributed to the Ruimveldt Children’s Aid Centre and, it said, its support of wildlife conservation propelled it to contribute to the Guyana Marine Turtle Conservation Society (GMTCS). Sol gives “dozens of drums of fuel each year” to the GMTCS. Additionally, it maintains the manatee pond at the Zoological Gardens.
