Republic Bank (Guyana) Limited on Wednesday awarded three University of Guyana students in recognition of their outstanding performances at the university’s recent convocation.

Dionne Vanessa Frank received the Chairman’s Award for ‘Best Graduating Student in the Faculty of Social Sciences’. Frank, who was valedictorian at last December’s graduation, received her award from Managing Director Edwin Gooding.

The Republic Bank ‘Best Graduating Student in Banking and Finance Award’ went to Ryan Clarke; it was presented by Senior Manager -credit, Executive Director and Corporate Secretary John Alves.

The Republic Bank ‘Best Graduating Student Award – Tain Campus’, went to Imran Alli and was presented by Senior Manager of Corporate and Management Services, Keith Johnson.

In his remarks as Master of Ceremonies, Johnson said the bank was proud to celebrate its partnership with the university by honouring the awardees who have recognised their personal goals, through dedication and commitment, an initiative that was developed five years ago to promote academic excellence at the institution.

The awardees said they are appreciative of the effort the bank made to recognise their success. “I feel completely blessed and rewarded for my years of balancing my role as mother, wife and student,” said Frank.”

“It is a great motivation for the private sector to demonstrate this kind of appreciation,” Alli said.
