‘No bad deed will ever go unpunished’

The Dharmic Naujawaan, Central Youth Arm of the Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha, says that the brutal slaying of eleven fellow Guyanese in Lusignan in the wee hours of the morning “is unrighteous and unacceptable and those involved must be punished.”

The religious youth arm said further in a press release that it is “imperative that we as individuals and as a united people resolve to take shelter at our Supreme Lord’s feet and place our trust that no bad deed will ever go unpunished.”

This event dated January 26th 2008 will now be remembered alongside some of the most evil days in our history, the Dharmic Naujawaan declared.

“Let us continue to offer our prayers for each other to find the strength and will to take our country forward. Our scriptures appropriately relate that in the face of adversity and peril, let us turn our hands to our God and let him be our guide,” the youth arm said.

And they urged too that, “We must summon the courage to fight off all negative tendencies which can consume us and instead be part of the solutions in the days that lie ahead.”

Joining with all Guyanese in conveying their deepest condolences to the relatives and friends of those who lost their lives, the youths said that during this difficult time, they remained confident that the families left behind will get the support of their loved ones and the larger Guyanese populace to move forward in life.
