A city policeman who allegedly assaulted a man so as to cause him actual bodily harm was yesterday taken before the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.
Kurt Jupiter, 39, of Lot 209 Callender Street, La Penitence, Georgetown pleaded not guilty to the charge when it was read to him by Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle.
It is alleged that on January 22 Jupiter punched Clifton Bacchus in the face causing him to sustain a swelling to his right cheek and jaw.
Jupiter was placed on $15,000 bail and the matter is to continue in Court Six on March 7.
