Joint services in air patrols

The security forces took to the skies yesterday conducting air reconnaissance patrols over the East Coast and East Bank of Demerara as part of the ongoing ‘Operation Restore Order.

There had been heightened security arrangements along the East Coast since the slaughter of 11 people including five children three weeks ago at Lusignan. In a press statement last evening, the security forces said that they planned to conduct further air patrols during the operation. Two men were arrested on Monday at Annandale and Melanie Damishana, ECD respectively and are being questioned, the release said adding that special operations were also conducted in North Vigilance on Monday night, during which a number of houses were searched and four men arrested.
