Motorcyclist dies in Land of Plenty crash

A man died on the Essequibo Coast yesterday morning after his motorcycle crashed into a minibus.

Habeeb Ramjan called ‘Kenneth’, of Cotton Field on the Essequibo Coast, who would have been 60 in April, was pronounced dead on arrival at the Suddie Public Hospital.

According to reports, Ramjan’s motorcycle crashed into an RZ minibus around 7.45 am yesterday. The minibus, loaded with schoolchildren, was heading north along the Essequibo Coast Public Road, when the accident occurred at Land of Plenty.

The occupants of the minibus were also taken to the Suddie Hospital for treatment and according to reports, none of them appeared to be seriously injured.

According to Ramjan’s family, he was running some errands when the tragedy occurred. Efforts to contact Essequibo police for details proved futile.

Ramjan leaves to mourn his wife and daughter, relatives and friends.
