PPP team sympathises with Bartica families

A delegation from the ruling People’s Progressive Party (PPP) visited Bartica on Wednesday and met with the families of those affected by the recent massacre to express the party’s condolences and assure them of the PPP’s and government’s resolve “to do everything possible to capture and bring to justice those responsible”.

Twelve persons, including three policemen were killed in the community by rampaging gunmen on Sunday night. According to a release from the party, the delegation included Central and Executive members Robert Persaud, Harripersaud Nokta and Hydar Ally.

It added that the delegation also met with the Regional Chairman and members of the Party Group in Bartica.
