Three men are in police custody following an operation by the police who burned two acres of marijuana plants at Swan on the Linden Highway on Friday.

Police in a press release stated that a narcotics eradication operation was conducted by ranks of the police narcotics branch at Swan on Friday and five fields of marijuana plants about two acres in size were destroyed by burning. The fields consisted of approximately 3,000 plants weighing some 1,800 kilos, the police said.

Three men were arrested while six camps and a nursery comprising about 6,000 seedlings were destroyed by the ranks who also found eight kilogrammes of dried marijuana, the release stated.
