Tourism Authority postpones mountain safari

The Guyana Tourism Authority (GTA) announced yesterday that the 6th Annual Pakaraima Mountain Safari originally scheduled to depart tomorrow from the Guyoil Gas Station on Regent Street has been postponed until March 28.

According to a media release from the Authority’s Director Indranauth Haralsingh, the postponement is due to persistent rainfall on the coastlands and in the hinterland regions which has resulted in slippery mountains, flooded creeks and wet camping grounds.

And these conditions, the release added, are not suitable for an outdoor event of this nature.

The GTA also apologized for any inconvenience caused and said that further information can be obtained by contacting the Guyana Tourism Authority or Rainforest Tours.
