Suspect in UG student murder turns self in

The suspect in the murder of University of Guyana student Dennis Edghill turned himself into the police yesterday accompanied by his attorney.

In a press release police said the suspect and attorney-at-law Nigel Hughes turned up at the Cove and John Police Station, East Coast Demerara.

Edghill was stabbed in the neck and abdomen after he went to intercede in an incident at the Turkeyen campus where his female friend was allegedly being beaten by her boyfriend. Edghill succumbed to his injuries while undergoing emergency surgery at the Georgetown Public Hospital.
