Exhibition at library in Jagan’s memory

A photographic exhibition and book display was launched on Tuesday at the National Library to commemorate the life and contributions of the late President, Dr Cheddi Jagan.

According to a Government Information Agency (GINA) press release the exhibition was one of many activities planned for the month to observe Jagan’s birth and death anniversaries.

PPP/C executive member and member of the Management Committee of the Cheddi Jagan Research Centre Navin Chandarpal said Jagan “was the one who lit the torch for freedom”. He added that “Throughout his career, Dr Jagan made many contributions to uplifting the living standards of the Guyanese people.”

The exhibition will be on for two weeks at the National Library.
