Mortuary guard charged with rape

Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle yesterday remanded to prison a man accused of rape when he appeared at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court to answer to the charge.

Alvin Weeks, a security guard, was not required to plead to the indictable charge of having carnal knowledge of a woman without her consent.

It is alleged that he committed the offence while he was stationed at the guard hut at the Le Repentir mortuary where he worked. The woman said that Weeks held her down and raped her.

Weeks was ordered to appear at Court Six on Wednesday.
