A Guyana Defence Force (GDF) re-supply truck collided with a pickup at approximately 16:30 hours on the Linden Highway on Friday in the vicinity of the entrance to Base Camp Seweyo, a GDF release said.

According to the release, five persons were injured as a result of the accident and were taken to the Linden Hospital by GDF officers. Two were subsequently taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital by a Linden Constabulary ambulance while the other three were transported to Woodlands Hospital.

All of the injured persons are reportedly in stable condition and a GDF doctor and medical team have responded promptly and rendered medical assistance.
