Four men in a car on Sunday evening opened fire on another car in which a West Coast Demerara businessman was travelling along the Fort Wellington Public Road with three others and both vehicles subsequently ended up in a trench.

A passenger in the businessman’s vehicle received injuries and was admitted to hospital. Police in a press release yesterday said the incident occurred around 23:00 hrs. The statement said Richard Williams of Zeeburg, West Coast Demerara and three others were returning from Berbice when, at Fort Wellington Public Road, they observed a burgundy Marino car parked and four men attempting to stop them. …..
