Porknocker remanded on rape charge

Principal Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle yesterday remanded to prison a 31-year-old porknocker accused of rape.

William Young of Agricola allegedly raped a 28-year-old woman on March 15. In his defence the man denied the charges claiming that the police picked him up while he was walking along the road and charged him.

The magistrate ordered that the virtual complainant appear in court on the next occasion and remanded Young until May 8.
