Indentureship village for stadium

The Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha plans to transform the Guyana National Stadium at Providence into a model indentureship village as part of its commemoration of Indian Arrival Day.

President of the Dharmic Sabha Pandit Reepu Daman Persaud said at a press conference yesterday that in celebration of the 170th Indian Arrival Anniversary, the model village, on display on May 3 and 4, would be complete with “logies, mandir, school and kitchens.

“You will feel as if you have stepped back in time onto a sugar plantation in the 19th century…”
The two-day event will contain grand stage performances by artistes such as Krishna Mandata, Mohan Nandu, Suchitra Rampersaud and many others……
