The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport says the church community is an essential institution and it plans to allow it to play an integral role in Carifesta X.

According to a press release from the Government Information Agency (GINA) Minister Dr Frank Anthony made these disclosures in his address to the congregation at the Winners Cathedral Church. He urged the congregation to join in the activities saying that during the festival each religious group will host its activities on a different night.

Anthony also said in previous Carifesta events the talents that exist in the Diaspora were not tapped but this year’s festival is being promoted at the national, regional and international levels.

He said stakeholders, representatives and NGOs at all three levels said they were hopeful that the religious community could come on board. Anthony told the congregation that volunteers are needed and he gave assurances that security has been made a priority. …..
