Ex-cop remanded over police gear

A former policeman was remanded on Friday when he appeared before Principal Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle accused of falsely obtaining police gear from the Force’s storeroom.

Parmanand Beekham, 36, of 3080 Kaikan Street, South Ruimveldt, denied the charge of obtaining by false pretence when it was read to him, saying that he was given an authorization to collect the items. However the magistrate remanded him to prison……
