Gunmen early yesterday morning robbed an East Coast Demerara gas station of $25,000, the police said in a statement.

According to the police the armed robbery occurred about 12:50 am yesterday at the Energy Plus Gas Station at Chateau Margot, ECD.  Investigations revealed that pump attendant Anand Mahadeo and watchman Latchman Rajnarine were on duty when three men drove up in a motor car and requested fuel.

As the pump attendant was attending to the request, the men who were armed with two handguns and a knife held them up and took away $25,000 from the pump attendant and escaped, the release said.
