Two bicycle bandits yesterday robbed a man of $2000 cash, a silver band and his cellular phone after stabbing him below his right eye with a screw driver.

Police in a statement said that just after 11 yesterday morning, labourer Surdeo  Mahadeo, 19 years of Strathspey, ECD, was riding his bicycle along the Embankment when the two men rode up on bicycles and one of them stabbed him below his right eye with the screw driver.

They then robbed him of his cell phone, the cash and band and made good their escape.
One of the suspects has been arrested and is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
