Digicel made good on its promise to donate 50% of its text proceeds from a football match by handing over $250,000 to the St John Boys Orphanage in Plaisance.

In a press release the company said it had made a commitment to make the donation from revenue during the Digicel/Carib Beer Sweet Sixteen Knock-out Football Competition. Patrons at the competitions were given an opportunity to win phones during the matches by texting the word “football” to short code: 1444. …..
