Accused gunpoint jewellery robber remanded

A man who allegedly robbed a woman of a quantity of gold jewellery worth over $200,000 at gunpoint was remanded to prison when he appeared before the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court yesterday.

Royston Rowe pleaded not guilty to the charge of robbery under arms when it was read to him by Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton.

It is alleged that on June 2 Rowe being armed with a gun robbed Juliet McRay of one gold chain and gold bangles together worth $218,000.

The accused was remanded to prison and the matter will come up before the court on June 25 for report.
