Single mothers certified in cake decorating

Fifteen young single parent women were on Friday awarded certificates for completing a cake-decorating course sponsored by the Mark Benschop Foundation.

The course was taught by Audrey Hunte, a part-time teacher at the Carnegie School of Home Economics. It was aimed at giving the women a sense of empowerment and a means of upgrading and providing for themselves since they were not only taught the skills, but were provided with cake-decorating tools.

The foundation is urging other young women who are interested in this venture to uplift application forms at the Courtyard Mall on Robb Street so that another cycle of the programme can be started.
