Couple cut about body by bandits

A man and his wife were admitted to the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) with cuts to their bodies that were inflicted by bandits who raided their Bachelor’s Adventure, East Coast Demerara home on Saturday night.

A police press release yesterday said that the lawmen are investigating the robbery which occurred at about 9:45 pm on Saturday, during which Christopher Jardine and his reputed wife Aeleina Sukhdeo were attacked and robbed by three men armed with a knife and two firearms.

Investigations revealed that the victims were at home with the back door to their house open. The three bandits entered and held them up and demanded cash and jewellery. Police said that the victims resisted and the man with the knife proceeded to cut them about their bodies. The men then took away a cell phone, an MP3 player, $30,000 cash and a silver ring and escaped.

The couple was taken to the GPH, where they were admitted.
