Man remanded on gun, matching ammo charge

Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton yesterday remanded to prison a man who allegedly had an unlicensed firearm and ammunition in his possession.

Dwayne Griffith pleaded not guilty to charges of unlawful possession when he appeared at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.

It is alleged that on June 27, Griffith had one .38 revolver and three .38 live rounds without being the holder of a valid firearm licence.

The prosecution requested that the court remand the accused and set a date for his trial to commence.
Griffith was ordered to return to court on October 15.
