Principal Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle yesterday granted $85,000 bail each to two men charged with stealing safety boots valued about $1.3M.

Lionel Narine, 32, of Charlestown pleaded not guilty to the charge of simple larceny when he appeared at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.

His friend Elvis Netram of Craig was charged with receiving stolen property to which he pleaded not guilty.
It is alleged that between June 6 and 9 Narine stole 168 pairs of safety boots worth $1,340,408 and on June 7 Netram allegedly received 36 pairs of the said boots knowing same to be stolen property.

The matter will continue in Court Four on July 25.
