Taxidermy camp for kids on at Museum

The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport will be hosting its second annual Children’s Taxidermy Summer camp at the Guyana National Museum.

According to a Government Information Agency (GINA) press release the camp will have two phases: the first started on July 8 and will run until July 18 and the second from July 21-31. The camp will cater for children from eight to 11 years. The registration fee is $1,000. For more information the public is invited to contact the Museum at telephone number 225-7191.

The ministry said too it has recently resumed its Museum’s Travelling School Loan Programme through which display cases are sent to schools to be used by Science teachers at the primary level.

The first phase of the programme was made possible by the Linden Museum of Industrial and Socio Cultural Heritage in May and schools in the area were the first to benefit. The second phase of the programme will be held in September.
