Women charged with gold fraud

Principal Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle on Wednesday granted $40,000 bail each to two women accused of attempting to sell fake gold to a businessman.

Keisha Cummings, 22, of 154 Middle Road, La Penitence and Samantha Davis, 26, of 144 James Street, Albouystown pleaded not guilty to the charge of attempting to commit a felony when they appeared at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.

It is alleged that on July 15, at Georgetown, the women attempted to falsely obtain $350,000 by pretending that the metal they offered for sale to Jeetendra Singh was raw gold.

The women were ordered to appear at court on September 4.
