Linden trio remanded over ganja

Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton yesterday remanded three Linden men, who allegedly had in their possession 80.5 kilograms (kg) of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking, when they appeared before the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.

Oswald Grant of 22 Central Amelia’s Ward, Linden, Kevin Joseph of 264 Oronoque Drive, Linden and Kenton Griffith, 22, of 10 Old Kara Kara, McKenzie, Linden pleaded not guilty to the charge of trafficking in narcotics.

It is alleged that between July 13 and 14 at Old Kara Kara, McKenzie, Linden the trio had in their possession 80.5 kgs of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.
They were remanded to prison and the matter is to continue on August 5 at the Christianburg Magistrate’s Court.

A quantity of marijuana was discovered in an open field at Kara Kara, McKenzie, Linden and five men were arrested and were in police custody assisting with the investigations, a July 14 police press release had stated.
