Labour ministry found 878 jobs to date

The labour ministry’s Central Recruitment and Manpower Agency (CRMA) has placed 878 persons in jobs for the year.

Minister of Labour Manzoor Nadir said this represents almost 80% in job placements. According to a press release from the Government Information Agency (GINA) jobs were found for 255 persons from a registered 303 in the first quarter of the year while in the second quarter jobs were found for 500. The agency is seeking placements for another 1200 persons.

The CRMA was re-launched on March 31 with a media and direct mailing campaign, the results of which have been very encouraging, Nadir said. “This shows that we need to continue the efforts of promoting the services and reaching out to the employee and working closely with the employers who have vacancies to match the job seeker with the vacancies in the private sector,” he said.

Nadir said every week about 40 persons find jobs through the CRMA. It matches skills to organisations within most of the country’s sectors.

Services are provided to both job seekers and prospective employers. To access this free service, prospective employers are required to submit the job description and specification and their contact information to the agency. Job seekers could visit any of the agency’s offices with some form of identification, a valid police clearance and original copies of their certificates, the release said.

CRMA has offices in regions two, four and six, and officers travel to throughout the country to register persons and seek out vacancies.
