Diamond business robbed

Bandits yesterday robbed a diamond dealer and one of his employees at gunpoint of a quantity of gold and diamonds and $2M in cash at their Church Street business place.

A police press release stated that around 12:30 pm yesterday three men approached the premises of the Battle Green Diamond Mineral Establishment at Albert and Church streets and were let in. The owner of the business David Pasie and diamond grader Amar Persaud who were in the building at the time were held at gun point while the men took the $2M from Pasie and $50,000 from Persaud and a quantity of gold and diamonds. They then made good their escape. The police were summoned and investigations are continuing into the matter.
