The Lyken/Newburg Funeral Home is launching a website that will allow online funeral arrangements and other services.

According to a press release the website will be launched during an open house reception tomorrow.

American web designers and funeral personnel will view key areas of the site including the memorial pages.

This is the first such service offered by a funeral home in Guyana.

Funeral Director Gordon Lyken said families can come together at www. lykenfuneralhome.com and “begin the healing process as they create a memorial to express their love for those who have gone.” The website will offer “a wealth of information about death, dying, coping with the death of loved ones, memorial pages, online funeral arranging” and other information.

The service is free of cost and will allow customers to create a memorial and invite others to contribute to it in many ways, the release said. It said too the website has a clean, crisp, graphic interface and uses web technologies including Flash and DHTML and a browser-based Content Management System that will allow the site to be updated daily with funeral and burial information as required.
