Demerara Harbour Bridge back to normal

The Demerara  Harbour Bridge Corporation has announced that the weight restrictions have been returned to normal, permitting 22.4 tons during the day and 18 tons at night as Phase One of ‘Operation Transom’ was successfully completed on Thursday at 2.30 pm.

The management of the corporation said in a press release that Phase Two of ‘Operation Transom’ is scheduled to start on August 3 at 5.30 am and it will last for three days.

The corporation also expressed thanks to all commuters for their role in making ‘Operation Transom’- Phase One successful.
