Blairmont man found dead at bottom of stairs

The body of a 48-year-old Zorg-en-Hoop, Blairmont man was discovered in his home early yesterday morning by his wife.

Police, in a press release yesterday, said that they are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of Shamlall Ramchand whose body was discovered in his home at about 3 am yesterday.
According to the release, the man and his wife retired to bed at approximately 10.45 pm on Thursday and when the woman got up to use the bathroom yesterday morning she found him lying at the bottom of an inner stairway.

Ramchand was taken to the Fort Wellington Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Police are awaiting the results of a post-mortem examination.
