Ganja field found at Eccles

A field of marijuana was found in the Eccles Backdam, East Bank Demerara during a Joint Services Operation conducted in the area on Sunday afternoon.

According to a police press release the field is approximately ¼ of an acre and contained 120 marijuana plants which were between one and five feet in height. The ranks also discovered a quantity of dried marijuana in a camp.

Both the camp and the plants were destroyed, the release said. A man has since been taken into custody and charges are to be laid shortly.
