A Festival of Flowers will be held at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Brickdam, to celebrate Carifesta starting tomorrow. The festival continues on Tuesday, August 26 and Wednesday, August 27 and will be open from 9 am to 5 pm. There will be live music on the organ as well as from members of the National Steelband.

A release from the cathedral last week said that twenty-two areas of the building would be decorated by church groups and professionals, some of which included the World of Flowers, the Flower Shop, the Horticultural Society, Design Team Neher, the Dream Catcher, the National Parks Commission and Double B Exotic Gardens.

The statement went on to say that this was the fourth such event to be held in the cathedral, and the preparations would take place today, so no visitors will be allowed inside during that period.

Admission is free and no tickets are required. The cathedral is extending a special invitation to all the delegations which are here for Carifesta.
