A mother and daughter were on Saturday night robbed of $40,000 and other articles and documents by four gun-toting men in Corriverton.

According to a release from the police, at around 9.30 on Saturday night, Rama Jagdeo, 44, and Ramkumarie Jagdeo, 62, were at their Line Path, Corriverton, Berbice home when they were attacked and robbed by the men

The release said that the women were in their ground floor home when the men barged through an open door and held them up, demanding money and jewellery. They also assaulted the elderly woman and discharged a round in the home before escaping with the booty which was handed over to them.
