Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry yesterday granted $75,000 bail to a 35-year-old man who allegedly demanded money from another with the intent of stealing it.

Dexter Lynch of 35 West La Penitence, Georgetown was charged with demanding money with intent to steal the same.
It is alleged that on August 17 the man demanded the sum of $100,000 from Sherwin Trotman with intent to steal it.

The prosecution requested that the case file be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions “since it might appear that members of the force are involved in the situation.”

The magistrate first placed Lynch on $100,000 bail but after his attorney Mark Waldron pleaded on his behalf the amount was reduced by $25,000.
