A 79-nine-year-old woman was on Monday found dead in her home with a wound to the back of her head.
Dead is Biphaya Sankar, a pensioner of 69 New Road Vreed-en-Hoop. Her body was found around  2 pm on Monday, police said.

A press release from the police stated that a tenant who lives on the ground floor of the two storey building was trying to make contact with the elderly woman when the discovery was made.

Sankar was last seen alive around 9 am the said day when she visited the Vreed-en- Hoop Police Station. Her body is waiting a post-mortem examination as investigations continue.
