Joint services destroy ganja at Golden Grove

Joint Services ranks on Thursday destroyed a quantity of marijuana plants and dried cannabis at Golden Grove East Coast Demerara, a police press release said.

Between 10:00 h and 14:00 h. on Thursday, ranks destroyed two fields (about 1¼ acres) of cultivated cannabis at Golden Grove. The ranks found 2,000 plants about 1’ to 8’ in height weighing about 1,500 kilogrammes (kg). Two nurseries with about 500 seedlings and two camps with about 50 kg of dried cannabis were also found and destroyed. However no one was arrested during the process, the release said.
