Nawbatt likely for Brazil posting

Minister of Housing and Water, Harrinarine Nawbatt is being considered for the post of Guyana’s ambassador to Brazil, Head of the Presidential Secretariat, Dr. Roger Luncheon confirmed last night.
“He is being considered”, Dr. Luncheon told Stabroek News when contacted after reports surfaced about Nawbatt’s likely new appointment.

Dr. Luncheon said that as far as he is aware Nawbatt is the only candidate for the post but he also suspects that there may be others. He noted too that there are certain diplomatic procedures that will have to be followed before Nawbatt is confirmed in that position.

The posting would effectively enable a Cabinet reshuffle and there may be other changes in the diplomatic service.
