Man remanded on sex charges

A 27-year-old man who allegedly indecently assaulted and buggered a female was remanded to prison when he appeared at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court yesterday.

Cheddi Seepaul of 185 First Street, Campbellville pleaded not guilty to charges of indecent assault and buggery when they were read to him by Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle.

It is alleged that on September 13 in Georgetown Seepaul indecently assaulted a 20-year-old woman  and later buggered her.

Seepaul was represented by attorney-at-law Adrian Thompson whose application for bail was subsequently denied.

The accused was remanded to prison and he has to return to court on September 29.
