Two teenagers who allegedly robbed a woman of $2 million in cash at gunpoint were remanded to prison when they appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle yesterday.

Robert ‘Blacky’ Blackman, 18, of 11 Water Street, Georgetown and a 16-year-old young man from Agricola, East Bank Demerara, pleaded not guilty to the charge of robbery under arms when it was read to them.

It is alleged that on September 6 at James Street, Albouystown while being armed with a gun they robbed Maureen Paris of $2 million in cash.

According to attorney-at-law Basil Williams, who represented Blackman, his client has no previous convictions and should therefore be admitted to bail.

The prosecution said that the two teens were known to the virtual complainant prior to the incident.

Magistrate Robertson-Ogle subsequently refused bail and the teens are to return to court on September 25.
