Porkknocker remanded over Kariaku Landing killing

A porkknocker who allegedly killed another man in April was remanded to prison on Monday when he appeared before Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.

Eglan Waldron, 27,  called ‘Red Man’ of Heaven Hill, Matthews Ridge, who allegedly murdered Marlon Softley on April 12 at Kariaku Landing, Barama River, Essequibo, was not required to plead to the indictable charge.

Waldron stated that he was not in that area at the time of the alleged murder.

Magistrate Robertson-Ogle ordered that Waldron be remanded to prison and his case be transferred to the Mabaruma Magistrate’s  Court for October 7.
